WHEELDON MILL UP IN THE AIR

The Club were recently given this aerial photograph, taken in the last couple of weeks, of Wheeldon Mill.
You can see its position, well away from large expansions of housing but very close to links such as the A61, Station Road, the Railway lines (both Main Passenger and Freight) as well as the Chesterfield Canal. The Black & White Plan will hopefully help!
Imagining Saltergate takes up 4.25 acres of land and our application for planning at Wheeldon Mill will be for up to 18 acres of space, that's the ground, training pitches and car parking etc, that's over four times the size of Saltergate which is (approximately) the size of the Old Dog Track area clearly seen on the photograph. Multiply that space by four to get a feel of the potential and maybe you can imagine a future aerial view like this.
The Club has submitted its comments on the Local Plan this week and next week launches its Club's The Hub Strategy document which will hopefully start us on the right lines to get planning permission for a new stadium next year.
