On behalf of CFSS a huge Thank you to everyone that attended Saturday's game and produced, in my view, possibly the best atmosphere ever experienced at Saltergate.
Just like many of you I've attended all of our big games in the last 35 years 
and mainly the memorable ones have been away from home. Often, in the past, the home crowd have been reticent to keep behind the team. On Saturday, as in recent weeks, the support was unbelievable. Once we knew Tranmere had taken the lead the volume from the kop increased to a deafening level and, I believe, spurred the lads on and gave them the energy and impetus to keep on pushing until the very end. Hursty may have left it late but, with hindsight, it was perfect timing as there was only a few minutes left to defend.
The scenes at the end were joyous and even better when the players were able to emerge and come out on to the pitch and applaud you the fans for your loyalty throughout the season. The support we have is as good as any in the League but it would be great if we could build our fan base to something like Saturday's gate, which when I studied the stats this morning was still the third lowest in the division.We know we can never financially compete with the big boys and our inherited financial problems are still with us but Saturday, to me, epitomised what can be achieved if we all pull together. Support makes a difference - Saturday was proof.
Andy Wheatcroft, our membership secretary will soon be writing to you to ask you to renew your membership. Please re-join as every penny we receive goes to helping the football club becomes that bit stronger. Every membership will increase our influence, not just with the club board where there is already a great working relationship, but in the town. We are one of the largest memberships in the area and, of course, numbers means your voice is heard more strongly.
Our club needs financial support from individuals, companies and councils if we are to move forward and you can help by re-joining and helping the Supporters Society retain its positive contribution to the stability and progress of our club. because whilst your supporters trust owns the bulk of the shares the club remains safe from predators and safe from the horrors of three years ago.
Once again thanks for Saturday, let's now work hard to make sure we can profit from it !
