Spireites Chairman Barrie Hubbard gave his traditional Christmas Message to all Chesterfield supporters via a Spireites Player video read the highlights right here

Barrie told Player "The season has gone very quick and we're doing well. A lot of things have happened, the stadiums doing well the season tickets have sold well and its good for the supporters."

"If I was honest it will be a better place we're going to, a better business with more income streams and more staff. Saltergate has been great but I'm looking forward to moving. We all will have lots of memories over the years one of the highlights for me in my childhood was watching my favourite player Gordon Dale, He was a marvellous player, who we sold to Portsmouth for a lot of money at the time.

Barrie then moved on and looked to the future with the appointment of Carol Willby in the New Year.

Dave Allen's come to join us and he's been key because  we wouldn't be moving to a new stadium without him. Dave's business sense is imperative and he's been very good with me. All the new positions we've appointed Dave has agreed with us."

"We've employed Carol Willby as a managing director and she will oversee the club and help me I can't do it forever and I want some time to myself. I retired ten years ago and I'm still here every day but I want the running to done by someone else and who knows what they are doing as it will be good for the Town and Derbyshire."

"We also have a new banqueting manager and all these new departments and appointments are needed if we are to move forward. Carol hasn't been a football person but she's required for business purposes".

"We've been moving for a long time now, and we can see it happening now at Whittington Moor we have been in discussions about seats at the moment picking the right colour etc. It's all very exciting.

" But we hope you still come to watch us here at Saltergate this season and I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year."
