The Derbyshire Centre of Football Excellence operates under the jurisdiction of the Football Association and is considered to be the pathway for future England international footballers.

The purpose of the Centre is to identify players of outstanding ability and place them in a technical and educational programme designed to produce excellence in conjunction with personal development.

The Centre offers a comprehensive 36 weeks course which includes training twice weekly and a regular games programme against other Centres, including Aston Villa, Birmingham. Stoke City and Wolves.

The technical syllabus will be led by former England Under 17 Head Coach Jane Haslam.

Players will be continually assessed during the trial period and successful applicants will be invited to a player/parents introductory workshop - after which they will be offered a contract with the Centre.

To take part girls can simply register on the day but need to ensure they are properly kitted out with shirts, shorts, football boots, training shoes, shin pads, sun protection, and a drink.

For details, and to register, contact Centre manager Stewart Rowley on 07720 889661 or e-mail s.rowley3@ntlworld.com
