The Chesterfield Girl's Centre of Excellence, which has been operational under the FA and Chesterfield FC for eight years, fought off an attempt by Derby County FC Ladies to obtain the only Centre of Excellence licence granted in the whole of Derbyshire.

It would have meant closing down Chesterfield's successful centre but that will not now happen after the FA recognized the merits of the Spireites case.

JANE EBBAGEThe Football Club would like to thank Jane Ebbage, founder of CFC Girl's Centre of Excellence and Centre Director, Stewart Rowley, for their hard work in keeping the highly regarded Centre of Excellence at Chesterfield Football Club, which benefits girls in the county and surrounding area.

Meanwhile, dates for trials for Under 16s, 14s and 12s will be held during the first couple of weeks of July. Dates will be confirmed shortly.
