Chesterfield assistant manager Tommy Wright expressed his disappointment that the Spireites didn't earn at least a share of the spoils at Brunton Park after looking comfortable for most of the match.
"At half-time we looked comfortable and for much of the second half we looked comfortable. Nicky Ajose nearly scored twice, which would have put the game to bed. But a bit of poor marking and a poor back pass has cost us."
"We only have ourselves to blame really and we should be leaving Brunton Park with at least a point. We have to be more organised and disciplined, we also conceded too many corners."
"I thought we started poorly for the first ten minutes and were a bit sloppy but I think we were the better side and moved the ball well. We just needed that second goal so we are all disappointed because it was a vital game for us."
"We were in control but switched off and that cost us. It's been more frustrating than anything today because we were in a very good position and to lose the game is a bit of blow."
"Jimmy Juan is struggling a bit still and Craig's getting his fitness back but he's getting there. We have some depth to the squad but we are bottom of the league again because we haven't won enough games."
"Next week we play Charlton which are having a fantastic season and are the team to beat and we will go in to there and be positive."
