Mark: Pleased with the way things have gone so far

Posted on: Fri 27 Aug 2010

Mark Crossley did the honours this weeks doing Spireite big match preview and he told Player " We are pleased with the way things have gone so far. But keeping our feet on the ground we would like to build on last weekend's performance. Macclesfield have had a poor start but I think they will get better and they tend to raise there game against us and they have been a bit of bogey side for us away from home. But we will try and rectify that on Saturday"

Mark clearly wasn't impressed with the Moss Rose pitch last season and continued "Last season the pitch was probably one of the worst I have seen which didn't look like there had been any pitch preparation. But with it being the start of the season and with the recent rain there should be plenty of grass on it fingers crossed. Macclesfield will give it 100%  and are a decent team on there day. Seven points from three games is an excellent start and if we can take last weekends performance into the game the result should take care of itself."

On last weekends hat-trick hero Danny Whitaker return to face his former Club Mark added  "We are pleased to have Danny here we tried to sign him on deadline day last season and there were a few others clubs interested in him this summer. He's a good footballer and if we are going to pass the ball around you need players like Danny in your team. We have given him a licence to go forward and that suits him and we are delighted to have him."

Finally with the transfer window closing next Tuesday Mark hinted about possible new arrivals and concluded the interview by saying "The Gaffer's got a few decisions on the team to make we have Craig back from suspension and Ian Morris fit again so to be at full strength it's a real bonus for the manager. He still wants to bring in one or two more if possible but the squad coming together well . We need cover in defence Aaron's on his way back and Gregor's training again and the managers working on trying to bring a couple of bodies if possible."
