John told Player "Getting the three points was the most important thing. They are a big strong team and they will cause teams problems with there height and set plays. Two nil is always a dangerous scoreline and I wasn't happy with the way we started the second half. I told them to be ready but we were sloppy really but after the penalty save we dominated the game which gave us a lift and we played well.

On Danny Whitaker and his hat-trick John continued

"I couldn't really see what happened for our penalty and I nominated Danny to take them the other week. We have missed too many penalties so it was pleasing to put one away. The second goal was a good move and good football from Jack and Danny who is calm in those positions and his shot was on target and got a deflection off the keeper.

I know what Danny can do he is a very intelligent footballer and he gets in areas. He's a good footballer never misses training and is good around the dressing room and he did well for me at Oldham. It's good that we are getting goals from midfield. It ended up a very good team performance with a clean sheet. So seven points out of nine is a good start and we will be working hard this week on a few things and hopefully we will get something out of the game next week.
