Spireites boss John Sheridan looked ahead to the first ever League game at the b2net stadium and he told Spireites player
"This is what it's all about now and this is what we have geared up for over the last four or five weeks. So let's keep our fingers crossed and we can hit the ground running. "
John then commented on the preseason friendlies "Preseason been pleasing results wise I would have liked better but performance wise and fitness wise we have come through okay . I think we did very well against Derby and Barnsley both Championship opposition and I think if we can keep everyone fit we will be a force in this division. I have made one or two changes to the squad like you do over the summer. I feel the new faces will add quality and they will be a big plus for us."
John then finally revelled that it's a no go for a Spireite return of Donal McDermott but told Spireites Player about his latest loan recruit Scott Griffiths from Peterborough and he added
"Scott Griffiths as joined us today on loan from Peterborough they paid 150 grand or something for him from Dagenham last season so he's obviously got something about him. He's a left sided defender, he's small but can play at centre half but he's mainly a left back. He will give us that bit more balance and he's aggressive and gives me more options. I am still looking for one or two players but people have to understand I am working to a budget but I do feel we lack strength in depth . We have tried our hardest to bring in McDermott but he won't be coming so that's a non go unfortunately. I think we need a wide man and I have enquired about a couple of other options."
Finally looked forward to a tough game against the Bees and concluded the interview by saying
"Mark Stimson brought in a lot of players and he did well at Gillingham and his teams work very hard so it will be a tough game. We have had them watched but they will come work hard and they will like the pitch but hopefully if we can take the game to them I'm confident we will get the win. "
