A clearly frustrated John Sheridan spoke to Spireite Player after seeing ten man Bradford gain an unlikely looking point in Saltergates penultimate League game
John told Player "It's typical of us, I thought we were going to win the game 1-0 once we scored first. The manner of the goal is a joke and again its frustrating that we switched off. I thought we were comfortable though we weren't playing great, but we worked hard and were very committed and we should have won the game after they went down to ten men. But school boy defending cost us again. It's just about making the right decisions you know I am getting barracked from the crowd and you see well paid experienced players making the wrong decisions and doing the wrong things. It's very disappointing.
On the final two league games John continued " I will see how the players respond this week .We still have an opportunity but will need two wins realistically because we have made it very hard for ourselves. We were in a very healthy position and have missed key players. But it was in our own hands and we have let ourselves down and thrown it away. We had a good chance of automatic promotion and should definitely have been in the play off spots I will always look at myself because I want to go as far as possible and I have to try and pin point what went wrong. We will have a lot of work to do over the summer. I will have to make the right decisions on who I keep and who I bring in.
John concluded by commenting on the number of players he's used this season "I can honestly say that I didn't want to use as many players as I have used. I brought in a lot of loan players this season of a good quality, and I would have liked to have kept most of them . But financially we couldn't do that .But I will stand up and be counted and certainly won't be hiding, and I will take what comes to me .But I am confident I will prove some people wrong.
