John Sheridan spoke to Spireites Player after seeing his side go down by a goal to nil at Meadow Lane. John told Player. "I don't think there was a lot between the two sides. They came out flying and turned us early but and I thought we were just getting into the game before the goal. Again the goal was disappointing we had three goes at clearing it before what was a decent finish from Davies. I don't think we panicked and we then tried to get back into the game the right way. I thought our fans were brilliant and I thought they appreciated how we tried to play ourselves back into the game but we didn't pick the right pass at the right time.."
Notts County committed 27 fouls and picked up five bookings compared to the Spireites 15 fouls two bookings and of course John Sheridan was sent to the stands in what can only be described as a very committed game. John responded "I don't want to talk about that but referees frustrate me at time and he frustrated me tonight . You can't even talk to them at now and they think they are bigger than the players.
Finally John looked ahead to the Saturday's Saltergate clash against Port Vale and John concluded the interview by saying " I have told the players to get their heads up and that if we continue playing like we did tonight we will win more games than we lose. We did seem to lack a cutting edge in the final third but I can't fault the players efforts. Port Vale I feel are one of the better sides in the division and we have to get back to winning ways against them on Saturday if we want to stay up there."
