A downbeat John Sheridan spoke to Spireites Player after seeing his sides six match winning run ended by Aldershot.
John told Player "It's a shame really because I was expecting us to win the game. A win would have put us in a great position which is disappointing and we are all down at the moment. We simply didn't get going in the first half and looked flat and didn't take enough care of the ball. But credit to Aldershot they stopped us playing. We had a bit of a go at them in the second half and the way we conceded the goal was disappointing as it came from our corner and that should never happen.
I said at half time if we don't win the game then make sure we don't lose the game and we just switched off and the goal cost us. There was plenty of effort but its just a shame we missed the opportunity to put ourselves in a very healthy position. We have to pick ourselves up now and reflect on what could have been. I am greedy and wanted to push the sides above us. But Aldershot are a decent side and they stopped us playing. So we have to pick ourselves up and go to Cheltenham next week in what will be another very hard game."
