A pleased John Sheridan spoke to Spireites Player after seeing his side hold onto a 2-1 win against Port Vale.
John told Player "The most pleasing thing again is the three points. We did well to go two up after a great finish from Downsey and Dominic's shot took a deflection beyond the keeper into the net. I think we took our foot off the peddle a little a bit after going two up and allowed Port Vale to come back into it. Tommy made a few good saves But pleasing we got into a winning position and held on. We rode our luck a little as Port Vale put us under a lot of pressure in the second half. We defended very well and put a few bodies on the line. But it's a great result ahead of the big game against Bury . Hopefully we can win that game and get a bit closer to them as they are the in form side in the division at the moment
Finally on Aaron Downes injury just was tight lipped and told Player " I don't want to say to much about Aaron injury, he came off and was in a bit of pain. He's in Jamie's hands now and we will keep our fingers crossed its nothing serious."
