Mark Crossley once again did the pre match Spireite Player interview ahead of Tuesday nights trip to Vale Park.

Mark told Player "It's another tough one they have been on a decent run of form lately despite getting beaten on Saturday. Hopefully the massive pitch there will suit us if we go with our two wingers. I think on Saturday we showed we are a much better team when playing with two wingers and I thought Adam Rundle came in and was superb for us. Drew's not far away now and he might be in contention for tomorrow if not then Saturday. So with Wade Small and Drew back, especially with Jack out they are coming back in contention just at the right time of us.

Mark also praised centre back Aaron Downes since his return from injury "Aaron been absolutely brilliant since he's come back he's a typical big old style centre half and he is also a talker and an organiser. I think that's shown with our recent record of only conceding two goals in five games."

One question that will need to be resolved this week is the future of loanee Dominic Green whose loan is schedule to end on Friday and Mark commented "I know John's keen to keep Dominic especially after Saturday where he showed more of what he can do. But it's not really down to us Peterborough have a new manager, so it will probably be up to the new manager at Peterborough if he stays on here after Friday."

When asked about Port Vale threats Mark singled out Vale's Brighton loanee Craig Davies and he told Player  "We had Craig Davies who they have on loan from Brighton with us at Oldham and he's a big lad who will be a threat with his pace if we aren't on top of our game."

It was then pointed out to Mark that last week he passed the age of 40 years 233 days which would make him Chesterfield's oldest ever player on his next first team appearance.

Mark replied "I actually hope that I don't break that record because I want to see Tommy stay in there. When I played a few games recently the fans gave me some criticism which in my opinion was a little unjust. We wanted to rest Tommy and he has comeback a done well. But like I say I hope I don't have to do it, but you never know Tommy could get sent off and if so I would have to do it."
