John Sheridan spoke to Spireites Player ahead of Saturday's game against Torquay United and John told Player
"The pitch doesn't look to bad at the moment thanks to the tremendous efforts of the ground staff and the fans. I would say its probably 50-50 if the game goes ahead and alot will depend on what happens overnight. "
Moving to discuss preparing his side in the arctic conditions John continued
"Training been difficult but you just have to get on with it. We have been trying to make the best we can on various surfaces we have had available to train on this week. We are also looking at a trialist or two which the fans clearing pitch no doubt spotted. But the squads changed and Saturday will give one or two players in the squad an opportunity to show what they can do. Jack should be available he's trained a bit this week. We have a number of games coming up with the fixture backlog which can be good if we can start a run going but first we have to get back to winning ways"
John is obviously still keen to strengthen his squad for a promotion push and John told Player
"Now four of our loan players have gone back I tired to keep one or two of them and they are now looking elsewhere and I will be trying to bring four or five players on longer term loans. I will be trying to bring in the right people who want to play first team football to get us to where we want to be. We have to do better than we did in the first half of the season. Torquay are on a decent run at the moment and again they are a team who can beat anyone else. So if we aren't at the races we will get found out "
