John told Player " The most important thing was to get back to winning football matches. I think we deserved to win the game and we played well in the first half and had some great opportunities to score more goals. But Cheltenham with the experience of Hayles and Allsopp make you defend. But I don't think Mark had a lot to do but a clean sheet and one nil,I will take that anytime. We got a bit edgy towards the end and we didn't keep the ball well enough in the second half. But I am pleased as punch with the win and the clean sheet.

John then told Player his thinking in recalling Mark Crossley to the starting line up and he continued

"Tommy done well  but I just feel he needed a rest and hopefully he will come bouncing back.  So I threw Mark in and I think he was our best passer  and you can see what he does he talks to the younger players and I want Tommy to learn from Mark because if he does he will be a top keeper. Picks came in and did well and Scott Boden's really impressing in recent weeks . So it's a squad that we are building and some people will be upset if they are left out."

With both Drew Talbot and David Somma missing from the squad with illness and injury John was then asked about Martin Gritton's possible involvement in the squad and John told Player

"Gritts has scored a few goals for the reserves. But he's never knocked on my door and asked the question why he's not in the side. I would have a bit more respect for him if he did that. He's had opportunities to go out on loan but the balls in his court. I haven't fallen out with him our anything and he's still at the football club and we are paying his wages. But I want players who have desire, and who want to play, and show me why they should be in the side. If players have that desire they have a good chance of playing for me."
