John Sheridan spoke to Spireites Player ahead of Saltergates last ever currently scheduled first team night-time fixture against Crewe.
John started by reflecting back to last Tuesday nights defeat at Gigg Lane and he told player " It was disappointing I thought we could have gone to Bury and got something from the game. The pitch was heavy, but we didn't start playing until we were out of the game. But it's important now that we bounce back and get back to winning ways."
John then talked about the opposition who have a serious goal threat in strikers Clayton Donaldson and Calvin Zola and he continued " I thought and still do think that Crewe will be one of the teams pushing for promotion. They have a lot of pace about them and some real quality going forward. But though Crewe can be a big threat, I think they are a team you can get at and cause a few problems. Dario's back in charge and he's a quality manager and is someone I certainly look up to as a manager. But we have to earn the right to play and if we are not at the races like at Bury we will get beat simple as.
Finally John told Player about his two new loan signings
"I thought it was important to bring in a couple of fresh faces and they will add to what we have. We have seven games in December and Downesy just around the corner so I think we will need the squad. So we have two new players who want to play football and are chomping at the bit.
Ian Morris
"Ian Morris is left footed so will add some balance and he can play in several positions. I am surprised we managed to get him to be honest especially as he played in the League One Play Off final last season"
Davide Somma
"We have watched Davide several times for Leeds Reserves and he's been scoring goals for fun. He will offer us something a little different and again he's been nice and bright in training. Between now and January I will be looking at the squad and if the current loan player's can help us go to where we want to go. Then we will be looking perhaps to extend a few stays, but we have to win football matches first."
