John Sheridan spoke to Spireites Player ahead of Saturday's trip to Spotland Rochdale?,?height="750," width='900,scrollbars=1,resizable=1,status=1,toolbar=1,location=1");return' false;?>Rochdale
John told Player "We are obviously we are disappointed to be out of both Cups but unfortunately it didn't happen for us. We didn't deserve anything against Bournemouth?,?height="750,">Bournemouth","height=750, width=800,scrollbars=1,resizable=1,status=1,toolbar=1,location=1");return false;' href="#">Bournemouth but we can take a lot of positives from the Carlisle game. I thought we matched them for long periods and I thought we were the better side in the second half and had a right go at them .The 3-1 scoreline didn't reflect the game and after playing quite well and performance wise I was pleased but again we conceded sloppy goals which it's something we have to stop.
On the team news and increasing injury list John continued "It's a real shame for Gregor and it is a bad break from a nothing challenge. He had been doing well and like Jamie. I thought he would play a big part for us this season. His operation on Wednesday went well and Jamie Lowry will also have an operation on Friday.
We can't do a lot about the injuries they are just part and parcel of football. We are hopeful that Wade Small will be fit for Rochdale?,?height="750," width='900,scrollbars=1,resizable=1,status=1,toolbar=1,location=1");return' false;?>Rochdale","height=750, width=900,scrollbars=1,resizable=1,status=1,toolbar=1,location=1");return false;' href="#">Rochdale. Also there is positive news about Aaron Downes who should play apart on Monday for the reserves. Hopefully he can stay fit get a few games under his belt and be pushing for a first team place soon
Moving on to the game itself John added. "Rochdale?,?height="750," width='900,scrollbars=1,resizable=1,status=1,toolbar=1,location=1");return' false;?>Rochdale","height=750, width=900,scrollbars=1,resizable=1,status=1,toolbar=1,location=1");return false;' href="#">Rochdale have done well over the last few seasons and they are a good footballing side and Oldham played them in the cup last season so we know a bit about them. We also had them watched against Luton?,?height="800,">Luton","height=800, width=850,scrollbars=1,resizable=1,status=1,toolbar=1,location=1");return false;' href="#">Luton and they dominated the game it was daylight robbery really. So it will be a good game for us and if we win we can go level with them. We are in a decent position in the league and that's our main priority after the disappointments in the Cups.
Finally John told Player that he expects to have one new face in the squad for this weekends game but as ever he kept his cards close to his chest.
