Tommy of course started the interview with an update on the injury that saw Gregor Robertson stretchered off in the first half of the game

Tommy told Player "It looked like a pretty innocuous challenge but it looks like a pretty bad break and our thoughts are with him and we will give him all the support we can. They are trying to make him comfortable and he will probably require surgery on Wednesday"

The Spireites took the lead in the first half perhaps against the run of play through Darren Curries spot kick. Tommy continued "I thought the linesman was in the perfect position to give it, but the Carlisle players seemed very unhappy about. I thought it was a penalty but perhaps it was one of those that sometimes you get and sometimes you don't"

In the second half Carlisle equalised and then added two more goals to leave the Spireites Assistant Manager frustrated thaat despite dominating the early part of the second half his sides defending had cost them the game.

"We played better in the second half and we moved the ball well, dominated midfield and created chances but if you allow their smallest player to score with a header at the back stick you won't win games it's as simple as that. There might have been a push on Picken but the referee didn't give it so there wasn't a push. It was a loopy cross and we should have dealt with it better. The first goal was disappointing because at that stage it looked like there was only going to be one winner and that was us.

We have to be stronger mentally, we are happy with the way we are playing going forward but at any level of football you can't give goals away like we are giving away at the moment and win football matches."

Finally Tommy was asked how he will lift the players after two successive home defeats and replied

"The players shouldn't need lifting they are going to Rochdale","height=750, width=900,scrollbars=1,resizable=1,status=1,toolbar=1,location=1");return false;'>Rochdale who are second and we are sixth and the player should be looking forward to Saturday and proving to the supporters that they are back on it.  A win on Saturday and we will probably be in the top three. So if they need lifting they shouldn't be at Chesterfield and they shouldn't be playing football.
