John Sheridan spoke to Spireites Player shortly after seeing his side maintain its unbeaten Saltergate start to the season after the 3-2 win over Grimsby Town.

John told Player "The most important thing was the three points after the defeat at Bradford.  We shouldn't have ended up at the stage we did at 3-2. I think the first Grimsby goal shouldn't have happened but they were two quality finishes.  Besides that I felt they didn't really threaten throughout the night and we should have seen the game out and kept a clean sheet. I thought some of our play was excellent and attacking wise we caused problems. We now have to carry that on against Accrington Stanley on Saturday and get a little run going and get higher in the table.

John was then asked about the injured players with Wade Small, Phil Picken and Derek Niven in the wars during the game John expected all three to be fine for Saturday but he then continued

"Alan Goodall and Downesy are progressing well and Drew should be back for Saturday. I am still trying to make us a better outfit by bringing players in and a Club today agreed for a player to come on loan so it's now down to the player if he wants to come here so there may be one new face in the squad for Saturday"
