John: We will go there and be positive

Posted on: Tue 29 Sep 2009

John Sheridan spoke to Spireites Player ahead of the trip to Valley Parade and John initially spoke about a loan player he thought would have arrived at Saltergate this week.

John told Player "We had hoped the player we wanted and agreed to come here was on the bench on last Saturday at his present club and they had a bad result. The manager decided that the player concerned would be involved again this weekend and we can't do much about that. He's an experienced player and only 26 and captained a team to promotion and played in the Championship. But the loan will happen when it happens and you will be the first to know when it does"

John then moved on to look ahead to the Bradford City game and he faces making a few changes illness permitting to last Saturdays winning side and he continued

"It will be again a tough game and I feel they will be there or there about come May and they have a good manager and are on a little unbeaten run at the moment. But we will go there and be positive and try and build on last week's result. There should be a big crowd 12,000 plus and we will try and take the game to them.

The reserves had a good result on midweek and Mark Crossley's never shy in telling me who I should be giving an opportunity to, which is especially good because three or four players who played last Saturday will be missing with a virus. But again the Barnsley result shows the whole squad's got the right attitude."
