John Sheridan spoke to Spireites Player before this weekends game against Morecombe.
John told player "It's a busy period and we face Morecombe first. We are expecting a tough game even though their results so far show they haven't got off to the best of starts. But in Sammy McIlroy they have an experienced manager and on their day they are as good as anybody. Sammy will no doubt be bringing them here to make it as difficult as possible for us. So we will have to concentrate on what we have been doing and we should have a good chance of winning the game. It's important that we get three points on Saturday we will then be averaging two points a game and if we do that through the season that usually gets you promoted.
John then revealed he's made an offer to a striker and that could lead to some departures from Saltergate and John continued
"I have made an offer to a striker and I have told the player and his agent that it needs sorting out soon and ideally before Saturday otherwise I will start to look elsewhere. There's nothing else happening really, though if your bringing players in to balance the books its part and parcel of football that some players may have to go out. The players understand that and if they are not playing here I think it's only right to give people the opportunity to play elsewhere. "
Finally John was asked why he likes being a manager and he replied
"I don't! But it's a good job especially when you are winning. But it can be very stressful and I have been in football along time and very privileged to be a manager of a professional football club. So I try and enjoy it and want to be successful. Of course I would still rather be playing but I am enjoing it so far and wherever I am I want to win things.
