A happy John Sheridan spoke to Spireites Player after seeing his side beat big spending Notts County 2-1 at Saltergate.
John told player " It was an excellent game and great advert for the second division. I thought we dominated the first half and the game should have been over and done with by halftime. Both Drew and Jack came in a half time slightly down after missing chances. But they are a good team and they played with a lot of confidence. We knew they would have a five to ten minute period but thankfully when they did have that spell we were two nil up.
John then continued
"Credit to the players they kept going and battled away and get the two penalties. I can't really comment on the penalties from where I was stood. But I am delighted for Jamie Lowry I thought he was outstanding tonight. I can't believe he didn't score last season and I have told him how many goals I want from him this season, and if he hits that target we won't be far away from achieving what we want to achieve. But it's a good result for us and you can tell they are a good team."
