"I started my career here as a player back in 1985. I was playing regular in the reserves before I went to Watford. I used to play for Hoyland Town Jaguars in the Sheffield League and I got spotted and played on Saturday mornings in the reserves. I know Jamie Hewitt the physio here and it's nice to be finishing my playing career here."
"We're ambitious as a management team and there will be some exciting times and we hope to get this club a little higher".
"I'll be player coach and to provide competition to Tommy Lee, I've done my coaching badges and I start my pro licence this month. I am available for selection, you cvan't beat competition and Tommy will get that from me and I'll get that from Tommy and we'll take it from there and get the very best out of Tommy"
"Highlights of my career are saving an FA Cup penalty one of only two, I have saved the only penalty that Matt Le Tissier never scored. I started at Nottingham Forest really and I started at Anfield in 1988 and played over 400 games for them and its great to be back in this area. I Went to Fulham for three years and displaced Edwin Van der Sar but I enjoyed my time there. I played eight times for Wales my mother was born in Wrexham and I was second choice really with Paul Jones playing the most and I really enjoyed it. I played against Germany and we beat them 1-0 in front of 75000 supporters."
"I met John at Forest he only played one game I think before moving to Sheffield Wednesday and we got on well, I left Fulham and I wanted to play and John gave me the call at Oldham and I played for two years and joined the back room staff and John is a top class young manager".
"We want success and we'll take the pressure that goes with it, John knows how he wants to play and with a little bit of wheeling and dealing ideally we'll get up this season but we'll take out time. Johns met the players and we'll have a meeting soon and find out what ambitions they have got and they will be pushed to meet them. I'm glad to be here and ready to rock and roll."
