Spireites manager Lee Richardson told Spireites World TV what he hopes to gain from his side's pre-season.

"The purpose of all these pre-season games is match fitness and getting to some level of team cohesion before the big kick-off, so the fact that we're playing a Premier League team is interesting.  He then went on and added

"A year ago we were supposed to play them but they backed out at the last minute because they had a Premier League team that wanted to play them on the same night so they cancelled on us and in fairness to them, they've come to us and asked if they could replay the fixture, so that was good of them and we'll reap the benefit of them being promoted and we're entertaining a Premiership team rather than a Championship team. "

Lee then looked forward to the game and the possible Saltergate return of former Spireite Caleb Folan.

"I hope they'll send a strong team and I hope we'll see Caleb Folan as he's part of their squad. I've not spoken to Phil Brown about his squad selection but I fully expect him to bring a good strength side because all of these games, like us at Gainsborough, it's not easy, not straight forward and you're looking to get other things out of the game apart from the result so Hull will be no different and they'll no doubt want to give everyone a run out.

Reflecting back to Saturdays game against Gainsborough Trinity Lee said:

"I was pleased with the new signings at Gainsborough, obviously not pleased with the result.  We ended up getting beaten but that was as much down to the fact that we had two teams and lots of changes as it's important not to risk any injuries at this stage. All in all, a well-used phrase sums it up nicely -  it was a great work out.

"It was a fantastic surface and that was a real bonus.  They had plenty of ex-league players, including a couple of our own in David Reeves and Gareth Davies, who it was sod's law that he'd score.  I thought it was set up for Reevesy to get the winner from that free kick, I was disappointed he didn't take it!

"We could have been out of sight before half time and we missed another two or three chances to put ourselves in a commanding position on the game but that's not really the purpose of these games, that's to get the right level of fitness."
