On Kevin Austin

We tried to bring Kevin in last season, but he wasn't available because he was in and around Swansea's Championship winning team. He's very solid, very strong, very dependable and a leader who I feel will form a strong partnership with Rob Page and Kevin can also play at left back so I am delighted to have got him.

Swansea weren't really desperate to let him go but after a long dialogue over the last couple of months with Roberto and his assistant Graham Jones they have allowed him to come here and the lure of regular football and  a two year deal no doubt helped Kevin's decision.

On Janos

We made Janos an offer and if he signs that contract then he will have a future with us if he doesn't he won't. Janos may feel his future lies elsewhere and his lack of enthusiasm to sign so far suggests that he won't be.

On Lloyd Kerry

We are pleased to have tied him down on a two year contract following his release by Sheffield United and interest from other clubs. He's a young local lad who did very well for us in some games and if he becomes more consistent we might have signed a little gem.

On Jamie Ward

.

I like John Terry, I like Ronaldo and I like Petr Cech but there is no chance that I will ever get them. I did see the press speculation and you have to ask where these stories came from. Players these days have agents who perhaps try and make stories up.

The fact is Jamie Ward is contracted to stay here until the end of next season and I will be looking to extend that at some point in the coming season. Along with any player contracted here teams will have to come along with an acceptable offer if they want whoever and we are certainly not looking to sell.

I feel we have made a good start with the signings we have made so far in building the squad, and there will be a lot more transfer activity before we kick a ball in anger.
