We are hoping to announce the signing of a player from a Championship club later this week. Lloyd Kerry has agreed a two year deal and Phil Picken has also agreed to stay here for another two years.

On the littleuns

There is no doubt that if you are a diminutive player you have to make up for a lack of inches with endeavour, heart and with something a bit extra. I believe these two have that little bit extra and are worthy because of the other qualities that they have.

The latest on Leven and Kovacs

We will know what there intentions are by the end of this week. It's pretty clear that they are both looking at other options and after this week so will we if necessary. We have numerous spots in the squad to fill because that's what I am building a squad and not just a team.

Up front

We are still looking for someone to replace Steve Fletcher as a target man up front is a priority.  If Bruce Dyer doesn't get fixed up we have given him the option of joining us for pre-season and see where it goes from there but that is a separate issue entirely. We are also after a wide player.  As normal we are a club that has to consider the budget as everything has to be paid for but our aim is to be a real force for next season.

The Chairman and the Board have always been ambitious for our resources and have always seen that a little bit of speculation is always something you have to look to be doing if you want to improve.
