LEE: YET AGAIN WE HAVE CONTRIVED TO GIFT THE OPPOSITION A VICTORY
Lee Richardson spoke to SPIREITES WORLD after defeat at Edgar Street against high-flying Hereford and was once again left rueing defensive errors. Read the highlights right here
Yet again we have contrived to gift the opposition a victory which is extremely disappointing. We came with a game plan that worked for eighty eight minutes but defending like we did for both goals after the referee and linesman contrived to give them free kicks is disappointing yet again. The players huffed and puffed and worked hard but it's impossible to keep on trying to come from behind like we keep asking ourselves to do.
I decided to take Rochey away from it because his performances have dipped a bit if late. This gave Michael a chance to show what he can do but to be fair he didn't really have much to do besides picking the ball out of the net. I don't think
There were a lot of decent performances out there and we had Alan O'Hare playing wide left and to be fair he got himself into some good positions but he never really looked likely to score. The key turning point in the game was when the referee turned down what I think was a very strong penalty appeal when Jamie Ward was brought down. It's very disheartening and I was pleased with the support we brought down and they are equally frustrated but we have to keep believing we can do well and I think we can.
Lloyd Kerry came in and did very well but it's pretty clear we need more reinforcements and we need a few fresh faces. I would like to bring in experienced players who know how to win games. But that can be difficult with clubs reluctant to loan out this type of player even if they are not featuring on the bench for them and that's a difficulty we face.
Hopefully we should have a couple of the injured players back for next Saturday. Gregor Robertson will be having results on his hip on Monday which may indicate he needs an operation which would rule him out for the rest of the season. Niven's toe shouldn't be to long, Leven knee and Jacks ankle should be there or there about by next Saturday. I will also by trying like I said to bring in a couple of new faces because we have some work to do especially on the training pitch.
