REUBEN Hazell told SPIREITES WORLD that he hopes to return to t he first team squad to face Colchester at Saltergate in three weeks time. Listen to the highlights of the interview right here

Reuben you have had your the pot off
It's about time really and it's nice to have it off so I can start running again.
What actually happened?
I broke my metatarsal in my foot following an innocuous challenge against Hartlepool
So what's next?
Following my X-Ray on Monday the specialist said it was okay to take off the pot, and start to build up my training so hopefully I should be playing in a couple of weeks.
Are you tempted to force it a bit to help the side?
Not really. I have been injured before and if you try and rush back it doesn't help in the long run. So it's a case of taking things day by day and returning when it's right. I am probably less than 50% fit at the moment I can't sprint or anything like that I am just plodding at the moment. The bone is still growing back and it is painful at the moment as it returns to its normal strength.
Could you aggravate the injury?
That could happen even if I was fully fit like at Hartlepool. It's a common injury in football at the moment and it makes you wonder if the new lighter boots are having an effect because the leathers softer and lighter so it does make you wonder.
Interesting since you been out Chesterfield forms dropped
That's football a sides not about just one player. I could come back and we could still lose and if they had won six on the bounce people wouldn't be interested at all in my recovery. That's just football for you can't get to high or to low and you have to keep a level head. Hopefully I can play again this season and it would be nice to play against Colchester at home but if I am not ready for that then hopefully I can be fit for the game after that.
