The treatment room is still quite a busy place at the moment. I will start with the good news, Alex Bailey who has been out for quite sometime with tightness in his hamstring which was related to his lower back and pelvis not being totally in line. After a couple of visits to our specialist this has settled down and Alex was able to make his comeback in the away match at Rotherham. Alex will get fitter with more games and full time training with the rest of the squad and Alex also works hard after training to achieve this.
Wayne 'The Chief' Allison has continued to make good progress with his hamstring and if everything has gone well in training this week he could be involved in today's game against Scunthorpe.
Shane Nicholson has also made very good progress with his Medial Ligament injury. He is now in the final stages of his rehab after a steroid injection a couple of weeks ago. Shane will be taking part in some training with the rest of the first team squad this week in a bid to get back to full match fitness.
Barry Roche sustained a thigh injury in the game against Southend. As a precaution we had an MRI Scan a couple of days after Barry's injury and this confirmed a tear to the Rectus Femoris Muscle . We are now well into his rehab and he is feeling stronger each day. We are now up to a good pace of running and also doing some goalkeeper work as part of his rehab.
Finally, Rueben Hazell who had a foot injury in the game against Hartlepool. After an initial x - ray showed there was no fracture and his foot was not improving we sent him for another x - ray as is the policy if we are getting no improvement from the injury. This revealed a fracture to the third Metatarsal. Rueben was then sent to our specialist who has put him in a walking boot to protect the injury. He will return to the hospital at the end of this month for an x - ray to determine the progress made in the healing process.
