Spireites manager Roy McFarland gave Geoff Mitchell and Spireites World the latest update on the current injury situation ahead of this weekend's fixtures heres the potted highlights.
Steve Blatherwick as started training again has had a break following his concussion. He is involved in full training and working morning and afternoon to keep him sharp so when he does come back into the squad he will be right. The bone itself needs to calcify and settle down the danger is he could get a whack on it even in training so we may look to protect that area by using a mask
Mark Innes we had to drag him off after 45 minutes at Rushden he wanted to stay on. We gave him 45 minutes but we didn't want to overburden his hamstring. We were pleased with his contribution to the game on Tuesday and the next stage for Mark is to increase his training with the first team. He's probably a week to ten days off returning to the first team squad.
Stuart Howson will be out a little longer following his cartilage operation he is in light training but we are taking it cautiously with Stuart following his broken ankle but he's progressing but looks to be out for around another month.
Caleb Folan played 90 minutes at Rushden and did very very well he was a threat throughout the game. I am pleased for him he's started picking up on what we want from him. If he can realise the ability he's got and uses his pace he should frighten defenders to death. He is one of the players I hope will be pushing for a first team spot he's not there yet but its not for the want of trying and we will continue to work with him to make him a better and more threatening player when he goes out onto the park
David Reeves backs a little sore he's had a couple of days off and he's had some massages but he's very fit once his back settles down he will be fine.
Kevin Dawson got some soreness in his groin but should be okay
Mark Hudson we think got a kick on his ankle last weekends game which will need a little care and attention.
