SETBACK FOR BLATHERWICK
A further x-ray has revealed that Chesterfield's central defender Steve Blatherwick has a fractured cheek bone and is set to be out for at least four weeks.
Blatherwick was knocked unconscious following a clash of heads with colleague Alan O'Hare in Tuesday nights Carling Cup game against Burnley. The first diagnosis was heavy bruising but after a night in hospital a further check revealed the fracture.
Chesterfield manager Roy McFarland said; " I am very disappointed for Steve because he was in a rich vein of form following a good pre-season and he will be very frustrated in having to miss some games."
UHLENBEEK SET TO RETURN
Chesterfield's new signing Gus Uhlenbeek is set to return for this weekend big game at Saltergate against Bristol City after missing the Carling Cup game against Bunley with a tweaked knee.
Chesterfield manager Roy McFarland said: "Gus is back in training and if there are no setbacks he will be back in the side for the Bristol City game."
Meanwhile Mark Innes is set to resume training with the first team squad on Monday
