There are fears that Chesterfield midfielder Jamie Lowry could be out for the rest of the season with a serious knee injury. A scan has revealed he has suffered an anterior cruciate ligament rupture picked up in a recent training game.
He is due to see a specialist this week to confirm the extent of the injury, which usually leads to an operation and a lengthy period of rehabilitation.

Defender Aaron Downes is currently recovering from a similar type of injury picked up last April in the home game against Darlington.
Following an operation last May and, after months of rehabilitation, he is only just on the verge of returning to full training next month.
Chesterfield manager John Sheridan said, "We are all very disappointed for Jamie as he was having such a good season but he will recover and come back stronger than ever."
