One sour note from an otherwise perfect day at MK Dons was an injury to the Spireites leading goalscorer Jack Lester.

He was clobbered on his ankle during the second-half of the 2-1 victory over the table-toppers and after receiving treatment on the pitch he had to be stretchered off before attending hospital in Milton Keynes.

His ankle was x-rayed before travelling back home on the team coach.

The results of the x-rays have proved inconclusive but don't appear to show any break, although there could be ligament damage instead.

Further scans are planned for early in the week to ascertain the full extent of the injury.

Until then it is not possible to speculate on the how long the country's current leading goalscorer will need to be out to ensure a complete recovery.

Lee Richardson said: "We all hope that the injury won't be too serious but we will have a better idea after the results of the further scans are known and things have started to settle down again."
