Dancing on Ice's Danny Young and many other TV stars are set to put on their boots in a live charity match at Field Mill.
The star-studded line up will be digging out their football boots for former Stags-apprentice Jamie Walker's fifth annual charity football match at 3pm on Sunday April 25th 2010.
A Jamie Walker select XI will face a TV soap stars XI at Field Mill, with the match ball being spectacularly delivered by the Langar skydiving parachute stunt team who will skydive into the stadium with smoke and flares.
All proceeds from the match will be shared between three charities that Jamie holds dear to his heart - The Lymphoma Association, Kings' Mill Hospital Children's Ward and the Nicholas Fund.
The TV soap stars team will be managed by Daniel Jillings (ex-Coronation St) and feature players including Anthony Quinlan (Gilly) and Nico Mirallegro (Newt) from Hollyoaks, Luke Tittensor (Daz) and Kelvin Fletcher (Andy Sugden) from Emmerdale, Casualty's Luke Bailey (Sam Bateman), Carl (Elliott Tittensor) from Shameless, Big Brother's Anthony Hutton, Danny Young from Dancing on Ice and TV presenter Jeff Brazier.
Jamie's team (the Jamie Walker and Scott Sellars X1) will include former Mansfield Town and Premiership legends including Simon Coleman, Scott Sellars, Andy Beasley, Les McJannet and many others.
A five-aside tournament will take place prior to the main game with the final played at halftime for the Jamie Walker Fundraising Trophy.
A day for all the family, there will be a raffle with great prizes including a holiday for a family of four to Centre Parcs, a sporting memorabilia auction and pre-match entertainment from the East Midland's Academy cheerleaders. There will also be face painting and other children's activities.
The first charity match took place in 2006 after Jamie was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma and the Walker family decided that they would like to raise money to help others in a similar situation. In total they have raised almost £50,000 for their chosen charities through various activities and were recently nominated for the Beacons of Hope Award organised by the Lymphoma Association.
Tickets are on sale at only £6 for adults and £4 for children and seniors and you can book yours now by phoning the ticket office on 01623 482 482.
