The two major supporters grouping at the Club are merging to form Chesterfield Supporters Club.

The existing Official Supporters Club is combining with Chesterfield Football Supporters Society to create one super group to represent all Spireites and help to support CFC as it moves to its new home.

All existing CFSS members, including life and triennial members will keep their membership of the Society while all Supporters Club members not in CFSS have been given annual membership.

The Society will now be known as Chesterfield Supporters Club but will retain its official status and place on the Football Club Board.

Several of the Supporters Club committee have been co-opted onto the Society Board, this Board that will run Chesterfield Supporters Club; a majority of that Board are now Supporters Club committee members.

Steve Tann, Supporters Club Chairman and new Chesterfield Supporters Club Vice-Chairman, said- "It is only sensible that there is one co-ordinated group to which all fans can belong.  The collective work done with the Young Spireites proves this is the way forward."

The new combined organisation will continue with the community links and heritage work undertaken by CFSS but will also increase the communal side of being a follower of the Club.  As well as the well loved Forever Blue magazine there will be competitions, social events and even trips away,

The new East Stand community facilities will provide an office and facilities for the new Supporters Club.  Community Director and Club Chairman, John Croot, said- "I think it is important to have one grouping as we move to these new facilities,  The fans are vital in our future both in supporting the team and Club as well as in backing our wider community aspirations."

All the members of the combined supporters club will have the opportunity to vote on the changes and new rules at the January AGM.  This will also offer the opportunity to elect a new Board when all existing members stand down.
