Statement from Steve Tann, newly elected Chaiman of the Supporters Club

As many will already know, the supporters club has in previous seasons contributed quite large amounts of money in  the form of "players kit  sponsorship", "players share fund" and have also donated numerous items such as "video camera equipment" and "air-conditioning units for the club shop". We need a large membership to continue this support especially as the club progresses through the very important chapter of its' development in the next year or so.
I , like many others, believe that in addition to the valuable support done by such as CFSS, Junior Spireites, Business Club, TrueBlue Travel, Groundstaff Committee and previous SIFA members etc. there is also a definite need for an active Supporters Club.

ALL these groups are in existence with the same ambition; to support Chesterfield F.C.

Many of the older  generation already know that the supporters club has been in existence for far  longer than any of the above groups, but it may not be known that things like the roof on the Kop and the wall on St. Margaret's Drive were once financed by  the supporters club. With the move to our new home imminent, we especially need  to  have as many members as possible to ensure maximum involvement in the forthcoming future plans.

Additionally, during the season, we have various competitions for our members, (young & old), along with distributing copies of our "Forever Blue" magazine in which members have the opportunity to submit various football or non-football related articles.

I have been pleased to have been a committee member for the last few years and am now extremely proud to have be elected chairman of Chesterfield Supporters Club. The time and effort undertaken by our unpaid committee members, past & present, deserve to be rewarded by the support of increased membership.
Even for those who are already a member of CFSS or any of the other groups, your small membership contribution to the supporters club will help us all to a better future.

 (Membership fees :- £3 for adults & £1 for under 18's)
