This is Mark Barton  meeting up with his mate Bruffy (Dave Brough) in Bali last month, Dave an avid Spireite, and an ex school mate of Mark's emigrated to Geelong Australia in 1978 with his family and has always kept in touch with Mark and the progress of his beloved Spirietes, in recent years via the web site.

He's been back to town twice though.

Christmas 1984 where after landing on Boxing Day he dashed straight off to the match (before unpacking or meeting his relatives) to surprise Mark knowing he would be stood in his usual place on the Kop. He saw every match during his 3 weeks here, including a trip to a freezing Aldershot.

August 2002 for a month, where once again he saw every match including trips to Crewe and joy of joys to see us win at Mansfield. He even found time to pay visit the club to homage to Jamie Hewitt, his intended trip to come over for the 1997 Cup Final being curtailed by the actions of a certain Mr Ellerey.

He even paid a visit to Chatsworth House where he was suitably attired.

In between this Mark went with his partner Liz went to visit him in Australia in February 2001, this is a pic of them with Dave and his wife Karen in his Dad's (Graham) kitchen a shrine to the Spireites, Graham came over for the 1995 play off final.

Dave is hoping to time his next visit with the last match at Saltergate and first game in the new stadium.

He still has lots of family in Chesterfield area
