Chesterfield FC is now taking a full and active part in the development and implementation of key strategies aimed at improving the quality of life for people in Chesterfield Borough and North East Derbyshire.
The Spireites, through their newly formed Chesterfield FC Community Trust, are now full members of CHART LSP, which has been the Local Strategic Partnership for Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire since May 2002, evolving out of the CHART (Chesterfield Area Regeneration Team) Economic Development Partnership that had operated in the area since 1993.
CFC community trust chairman John Croot said: "We are delighted to be invited to play a full part in this strategic partnership with the other public, private, community and voluntary sectors with a vision to improve the quality of life for people in our local community."
"We will have an innovative range of community facilities at the b2net stadium, which means that for the first time we have something to bring to the party that will help bring the football club's community aspirations to life."
CHART LSP's latest Community Strategy covering the period 2009 - 2026 was launched last year to cover all the communities that live and work in the area with a vision for safe, healthy, diverse and prosperous communities and sets out the social, environmental and economic improvements that will help this vision to be realised.
