Alison Rodgers, a committed Spireite, brought her class of six to nine year-olds to see her "Special Place".

The children, who have special needs, are studying special places this term and Saltergate is Alison's special place.

The visit, organised by 'Chesterfield FC in the Community', involved the pupils touring the dressing rooms and meeting Jamie Hewitt in his treatment room.

The children also went into the Board room and were photographed with the trophies.

There was also the chance to walk down the players' tunnel and onto the pitch for a game with the Community Manager, Andy (Bruno) Morris.

Andy arranged the trip as part of the Club's work with the recently created Football League Trust.

The on field activities complemented the ball-skills work done in school.

A school representative said, "The children thoroughly enjoyed the morning out.  They were particularly excited by playing on the field and meeting Bruno."
