Chesterfield FC has signed 20-year-old Charlie Daniels from Tottenham Hotspur on one month's emergency loan.

The left-sided wide player goes straight into the squad for the home game against Leyton Orient at Saltergate this Saturday.

Chesterfield manager Roy McFarland said: "We have been tracking Charlie Daniels for some time so we are delighted he has now become available to help our cause."

The former Spurs Academy player signed a professional contract with the London club in July 2005. 

He plays in the same reserves side as Jamie O'Hara who was on loan with the Spireites last season.

The signing follows the news that wide player Adam Smith is set to miss the rest of the season after a knee operation.
