Late night opening this Friday for tickets and shop

Posted on: Wed 10 Nov 2010

For fans convenience there is trial period for late night opening until 7.00pm by the ticket office and club shop on a Friday night preceding a Saturday home match,

This continues on Friday 3 September ahead of the Lincoln City game.

If there is sufficient demand from supporters this could be extended to run indefinitely.

The aim is to give supporters in the Chesterfield area the chance to alleviate the need to queue prior to kick-off on a Saturday by purchasing tickets and any merchandise in advance of match day.

The club shop is also open until 7.00pm for the sale of Spireites merchandise, and the Lincoln City matchday programme.

TICKETING ARRANGEMENTS  - CLUB STATEMENT

Revised ticketing arrangements are being introduced at the B2net Stadium as part of a series of planned changes over the next few months to help alleviate queuing for match day tickets.

As an all-seater stadium, new arrangements have had to be implemented at the B2net for the sale of seat specific tickets in all home areas and this can lead to some congestion if too many supporters arrive just before kick-off without a ticket purchased in advance.Chesterfield supporters are being urged by the club to buy early and avoid queuing on the day of the match.

The ticket office is now open from 9.00am until 5.00pm each weekday, from 10.00am until 3.00pm kick-off time on match days, and after the game, plus extra late night opening on the Friday night immediately preceding a Saturday home game, initially for a trial period.

Tickets can be purchased during these times either in person or over the telephone where the transaction can be completed with match tickets being available for collection from a separate collection point.

To speed up the actual process of buying tickets on match days, no credit cards will be accepted at the ticket office after 1.00pm, starting from the home match against Lincoln City.

To help ease congestion at the ticket office on a match day an additional ticket office is to be opened at the Printability North Stand for away supporters only, again starting with the Lincoln City game.

An off-site ticket purchase point is actively being pursued with the Midlands Co-operative Society for their town centre department store and is at the final planning stage.

The option of buying match tickets on-line is currently under development as well.

CFC chief executive Carol Wilby said: "The simplest and most effective way of speeding things up on a matchday is for supporters to buy their tickets in advance and we are looking to provide even more options which allow them to do this."

She added: "In the meantime, we are reverting to cash only after 1.00pm on a match day as the credit card transaction is time-consuming, and supporters who wish to use their credit card can ring us up during the week."

So the advice is 'Buy early - avoid queuing'.
