The Spireites two pre-season games against Derby County (attendance 7,550) and Barnsley (attendance 3,757) were both carefully monitored and the football club has been commended on the success of their safety procedures at both games.

CFC stadium director Philip Taylor said: "The combination of a brand new stadium, which meets all the latest regulations, and the experience of existing match day staff enabled the Safety Advisory Group to immediately give the go ahead for 100% capacity."

He added: "I want to place on record the club's appreciation for the hard work put in by our stadium manager Colin Nellist and his team, with assistance from the Safety Advisory Group, in ensuring this quick and successful outcome after only a couple of weeks of the stadium opening."
