Confirmation that Scunthorpe United midfielder Ian Morris has joined the Spireites on a season long loan deal.

The 23 year old former Republic of Ireland U19 International had a two month loan spell with the Spireites last season.

Despite a couple of offers to go to other clubs Ian Morris said: "I really wanted to come to Chesterfield and am well impressed with the new stadium."

He added:  During my career I have enjoyed a promotion every other year so that sets things up nicely for the new season in what is an impressive new stadium."

Morris is a former Leeds United trainee who has also had previous loan spells with Blackpool and Carlisle United.
