This technical handover allows the football club to make final preparations for the final fit-out of the stadium, which includes IT systems for data comms, ticketing, and retail tills, furniture for the offices, conference and banqueting suites, completing the signage, stocking out the club shop, plus dealing with any final snagging work.

Access to the site will continue to be restricted until the club has officially moved its operations from Saltergate, which it hopes to do by the start of next week.  In the meantime, supporters should continue to use the Recreation Ground until further notice.

There is no change to the club's telephone number of 01246 209765, which will be operational at both old and new grounds thanks to the work of the Spireites IT partner, Addooco IT Services.

Chief execChesterfield FC's chief executive Carol Wilby said: "This is another key milestone for the club and one which means everyone's dream of moving into a new football stadium is about to be realised very soon."

The club's old ground at Saltergate will continue to be used for the foreseeable future by the Chesterfield FC Community Trust for its Saturday Morning Club and Summer Soccer Camp on the pitch during the school holidays.

Admission details for forthcoming games will be announced once the club is operational at the b2net stadium.
