Former Kilmarnock and Jamaican International defender Simon Ford has joined the Spireites on a two year deal, which runs from 1 July 2010 until 30 June 2012.

The 28 year old began his career at Charlton Athletic before joining Grimsby Town in 2001.  He joined Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premier League in 2004 making 163 appearances.

Simon Ford said: "Although I had some options I am delighted to be joining Chesterfield and am really looking forward to kicking off the season at what is a fabulous new stadium."
