Chesterfield FC is banning the main instigator at the heart of some racist chanting at the Spireites last home match against Bradford City.
The football club, which has a zero tolerance policy on racism, has also issued a warning that anyone repeating this type of behaviour will also be banned from attending future matches.
CFC stadium manager Colin Nellist said: "The stewards identified the main instigator of the chanting on the Kop and involved the police, as the stewards can only eject and do not have powers of arrest, and he was subsequently arrested."
"Notwithstanding the outcome of any court action, the football club already has sufficient evidence and the individual concerned is now banned."
He added: "The club does not tolerate racist behaviour of any kind and any fans involved in this type of behaviour in the future also face being banned."
After further developments it is probable that more people will receive bans.
Colin Nellist said: "Following further enquiries this week there is now every probability that more bans will be issued as racist behaviour is not tolerated at either Saltergate or in the future at the b2net stadium."
