Spireites boss wins October award
Chesterfield boss John Sheridan was celebrating today after being named Coca-Cola League 2 Manager of the Month for October. Sheridan's side enjoyed an excellent month in October winning four of their five League fixtures.

They began the month with a home victory against Accrington Stanley, before recording an impressive three points at table topping AFC Bournemouth. Spireites continued their fine form by ending the month with back-to-back wins against Burton Albion and Barnet to help the club climb into the Play-Off places in Coca-Cola League 2.
Also short-listed for the October award were Paul Peschisolido of Burton Albion, Micky Adams of Port Vale and Rochdale's Keith Hill.
Alan Curbishley, chairman of the Coca-Cola Manager of the Month Awards panel, said: "Chesterfield won more matches in the month than any other team and John Sheridan fashioned great wins against top of the table Bournemouth, Barnet and a 5 -2 mauling of Burton Albion who have also been doing very well".
Dave Jones of Cardiff City won the award in the Championship and Kenny Jackett of Millwall was given the League 1 accolade.

Manager of the Month for October 2009
The decision to present the Coca-Cola League 2 Manager of the Month award was made by the Coca-Cola Awards panel.
Headed by Alan Curbishley the panel also includes former World Cup referee Jack Taylor, on behalf of The Football League, Olaf Dixon of the League Managers Association and Steve Watts , Marketing Assets Manager, Coca-Cola Great Britain.
