It is with deep regret that the football club has to announce the death of popular ticket office manager Sue Green.

She passed away at home this morning (Monday) at the age of 54.

Sue was a Spireites fan through and through and her administrative job at the club was a labour of love as she followed the team both home and away.

Everyone at the club is shocked by the news and sends condolences and the deepest sympathy to her husband Mick, her children Joanne, Kate and Liam, grandchild Jake, family and friends.

Manager John Sheridan said: "Sue was a ray of sunshine who was popular with fans and players alike, and in my short time at the club made me and my family so very welcome."

He added: "The lads are shocked by the news and hope to get the right result at Burton Albion on Tuesday night for Sue.
