Confirmation that the Spireites have now completed the signing of former Carlisle United, Blackpool, Hibernian and Newcastle United goalkeeper Tony Caig on a short term deal, after international clearance was received.

The 34 year old had most recently been stateside with Major League Soccer side Houston Dynamo and United Soccer League side Vancouver Whitecaps. 

He has joined the Spireites to provide experienced backup for Chesterfield's current No 1 'keeper Tommy Lee and goes into the squad for this weekend's home game against Dagenham & Redbridge.
